Manual headcounts are unreliable on 6 to 7 hour intercity routes. Passengers board at multiple pickup points, step off at rest stops, and re-board. Conductor tallies and ticket counts diverge.
What it does
Counts unique passengers per trip, not per boarding event
Recognises a passenger who steps off at a dhaba and re-boards, without double counting
Works with the DVR cameras already installed in the bus — no new hardware in the cabin
How it works
An entry-gate camera over the boarding step establishes the count line. A cabin camera facing down the aisle handles re-identification when passengers step off and return. Processing runs on-vehicle — no cloud upload required for the count.
